Compact Disc Grading

**Mint (M)
Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly never been played, possibly even still sealed.

**Near Mint (NM or M-)
A nearly perfect CD. The CD surface should show no obvious signs of wear. The liner notes should have no creases, cut-out holes, seam splits or other noticeable similar defects. Basically, a CD in near mint condition looks as if you just got it home from the record store and removed the shrink wrap.

**Very Good Plus (VG+)
A Very Good Plus CD will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. CD surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences.
The liner notes may have some wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. In general, if not for a couple things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. Most collectors find a Very Good Plus CD highly acceptable.

**Very Good (VG)
Many of the defects found in a VG+ CD will be more pronounced in a VG record.
Liner notes/disc label may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them.

Other Considerations

A separate grade is assigned to the CD and it's liner notes. In each listing, a CD's grade is listed first, followed by that of the liner notes (if included). All CDs come in a plastic sleeve (no jewel case included).
